Class Notes Context Talk:

  • Responding to the Bief Below

1st Draft

Bridges, limestone caves and the ocean. Fort lane has been transformed into a restless public space and erased memories of a relaxing gathering event. The ocean it’s gone. Today the laneway became a climate issue causing the city to become overwhelmed with traffic, stressful and busy. People often use a shortcut laneway without doing activity in space. My design it’s abstracting the first reclamation foreshore history 1840. 1880 of the Pipi bank before the shoreline was changed to show the transitional changes of the city on history mapping to bring memories and gather people in space with warm wood of materialities. Including 1827 bridges and under waterways and scenes of Pukekaro Volcanic and Waitama rivers to provide experiences for users.

The cinematic John wick the welcome space it’s to guide people through the programs. Inceptions to rephrasing let use to be rethink the shoreline environments of atmospheric. Then they will enter a real atmosphere of Aquaman to bring their atmospheric memories of foreshore underwater in the rain room and an immersive space to echo with species getting more interactive with space and other users in the room.

Moreover, the God of War Tumatauenga they have highlighted the frame of scenes. Therefore, it gave me a sense to use as a cinematic using a projector. Facing the east wall it’s Pukekaro Volcano and facing west it’s Waitama river nearby 1860 bridges where people use to gather food collect pipi bank oysters in 1880. I have use scenes concepts to relieve their stress moments by meditating with glass to imagine they are sitting on water. Instead, i have also used the led lights of orange to show where the sun path came from in the West.

I have used Shack Movies' cinematic concepts to experience walking on the water to relieve and slow their movements by dancing performances. Waitamata Horotiu creek ran down queen street gully before Waihoru Streams happening. Consequently, i have repopose my bridge to symbolize the grateful memories waterways in 1860 bridges, where it happened before being covered by the urban. Lastly i have used Skyfall movies concepts letting user to be experienced on a bird eye view to rethinking the programs the hidden history of the shore, and a place to relax. Overall, many design care about exterior appearance and ignore sound in space. Therefore i have used first program floor with wood to make louder voices as welcome spaces. And the second program uses glass and concrete as echo and the third program uses grass carpets to make lower voices in space, moving from one to another.

The Pocket Forest concave reflects Maori the first reclamation of land in NZ, the water and cities map top cold glass reflects the memories of shoreline material narratives of cities. In order to create spatial assemblages, meditation and water performances, touch performing, eating popcorns and meditation would be an event in actions. Using new materiality surfaces could reflect on old materials surfaces, light is to concerning to apply with new materialities. Also, with the receptionist dressing up as Mariko Maori costumes to give users to know about these programs, space is related to Maori history and urban context to show the understanding of embodiment to unfold urban setting.

  • First program represents historical shoreline mapping highlighting the aspect of Historical shellfish bank where it provides Pipi bank where people get food for dinner. However it covered up by the urbans, therefore i want to purpose these historical maps of memories and how the urbans transformed them. Therefore the receptionist dressed up to Mariko Maori costumes

  • The second program is experiencing the water echo under the sea through glass materials people will be use their hands clapping to create waterfalls echo and experiencing touch the water in the real water temperatures space.

  • The third program space it’s meditations relating to historic the domain scenes of Pukekaro Volcanic cone facing east sides by using wood to feel it’s warm surfaces. West sides of Waitama rivers using marble let user touch it’s cold surfaces represents water to show the locations. Conclusion and gives a better environment protection for Kaititatanga and whenua reduce noises and stress using by cavings and limestone it also helps reduce water floods on fort lane.

  • The rooftop perspective shows bridge waterways in1860 Waitamata Horotiu creek ran down queen street gully before Waihoru Streams happening.

2nd DRAFT

1) What is the focus of your project in relation to the cinematic spaces brief?

My design focuses it’s telling transitional cinematic space between nowadays cities occur with constructing buildings built land changes by crowns and compare before crown settlement 1840 back to the earliest transitional space the historical environment it’s built with water and native forest.

2) What do you know about your project, and how are you going to articulate that ?

There will be three different cinematic themes about the changing space, articulated with surface textures to know their historical changes by using natural plants, limestones, and a change of man made timber materials in a city of public space. To know the differences Maori used a natural forest of living and compare the differences of buildings manmade living buildings today . The program would be a sitting area, immersive space water touching and meditations.

3) What is your key relation to the site? (Main idea)

River, Forest, memories, Rejunvenate cities.

Fort lane was merely water and forest. Nowadays after British settlements 1841 it change our cities environments. They affect bird life, ground browsing forest and animals' livings, forest begin disappeared at the end of blind valleys which shown on map. There are lots of building air pollutions after Crown change the urban. After British changing cities today people using artificial materials . fortlane it’s appearing with artificial materials such as plastic acrylics and PVC etc on furnitures and buildings.

I aim to let user remember the historic atmospheric natural living scenes today we are lack of natural materials and soil. Therefore I have use natural teak wood to conveys a warm natural living feelings. Our user will be have a resting area to project the map of changing from forest transitional to sea river and cities,to show our beloved with natural livings.

It reminds me the hidden history of beloved Māori Tui(Moa) Pocket Forest relates to 1000 AD forest histories of cinematic. Therefore i have repurpose pocket forest protect and river Kaitiatanga it’s environments to change climates that affects on user health with stressful moments and to remind our beloved Pocket Forest memories tui Moa and the foreshore .And looking through the immersive water echo sound experiencing in the underwater Harbour bridges and meditation with forest.

I have observe the site it’s busy most people after work and the noise affected by cars between break time. Which let the user makes stressful and worrying, during at evening regarding my site analysis fort lane motorway used as a shortcut laneway not many people stay and less people gathering and observe about the hidden history behind of fortlane. Therefore it draws me into the light to make a brighter historic place to be highlighted in the Pocket Forest and river, allowing them to slow their movements by meditation and relaxation to reduce their stressful traffic and noises. And to aids their health and the enivornments of Co2. The title, which translates to ‘ The historical memories awakening scenes’, will reflect the historical forest and river rejuvenate context from cities life forms into pocket forest. The adapt to new ways of living and workings to be repurposed in society.

4) What specific community is your design proposal in service of ?

Interventions mainly in service for future public user communities. On weekdays would mainly focus on a businessman (adults) , Uni-students and workers, weekends would be families and elderly.

6) What are the key thresholds/ scene transitions in your proposal? How do these related to cinematic transitions?

The key thresholds from cities changes to forest nowadays our cities are involved with building man made materialities were transformed into part of half Crown in 1840, the inceptions captures a scenes of island therefore i have used mapping to let user understand the hidden how the forest transformed into cities of urban changes. The shore connects the gaps between forest and buildings with the most hidden historical theme of the early foreshore feeling the water underground Aquaman reflects a boundary of shore between forest and cities the gap of compare the forest Maori use cavings, Tumantauega movies relates imagery document aspect Pocket forest natural livings and compare the inceptions movies related to imagery document of man made buildings. The crossing bridge waterways in1827 before they erased the entire oceans and landform on shore locations. Many buildings haven’t been built yet at that moments Therefore the shack movies scenes captures me bringing the memories to dance on water movement.
