After the conversations with peers they have suggested me what kind of specific history that i want to relate to ( Time range) and what kind of materials that represents the Crown could be bricks ?concrete etc.
1) What is the focus of your project in relation to the cinematic spaces brief?
My main focus is telling transitional themes involving mixing materials with Crown’s building environments, of comparison before it was a historical native environment that connects with water and nature.
2) What do you know about your project, and how are you going to articulate that ?
There will be three different cinematic themes about the changing space, articulated with surface textures to know their historical changes by using natural materials in a city of public space. The program would be a sitting area, immersive space water touching and meditations.
3) What is your key relation to the site?
Water, Nature, adpative,Rejunvenate.
The adapt to new ways of living and working, decision-makers often consider about rejuvenate context that exists reusing space with water, pocket forest and history materials in public spaces
4) What specific community is your design proposal in service of ?
Interventions mainly in service for future public user communities. On weekdays would mainly focus on a businessman (adults) , Uni-students and workers, weekends would be families and elderly.
5) How did your cinematic device document the site ?How did you respond insightfully to those findings?
The cinematic device shows a transitional illusion of lights that gives people attractions by reflection on floor materials and the people following the pathways, but then the moments disappear. In my observations, most people after work the noise affected by cars and the site became darker. They have immediately got into the cars stuck at traffic jams that make more people stress during the evening. The most interesting thing I have found in these spotlights are the hidden histories that look like water flow movements.By looking through the cinematic device, I have also started to think that it would be good to use warm and cold surfaces, lights, and materials that express attention to historical materials. I’m thinking of applying historical materials to slow their movements by meditation and relaxation.
6) What are the key thresholds/ scene transitions in your proposal? How do these related to cinematic transitions?
The key thresholds from Ngati Whenta land leader the moment gift lands to behalf of Crown in 1840. Nowadays our cities that involved with English materialities. It connects with the most hidden historical theme of crossing bridge waterways in1827 that reflects a boundary between 14th century wharepuni (sleeping houses) of traditional houses. Maori use wood, reed, grass and bark, these natural elements they found and live in forests. These are the scenes related to life experiences, from aggressive cinematic to a transitional environment of calm documentaries.
7) How does your proposed design activate the site as a public space?
I’m focusing on the built environments connected to people’s gathering quality, which gives a meditation space to rest and stay from cold to warm temperatures—the design. Although cultures and climates are different, people are the same. They’ll gather in public if there’s a place to relax.
8) What kind of scripting are you using to programme your design over time?
I have used poetic scripting to program my design and used imaginative historical crossing bridges with water to imagine hearing the sound for a place to relax, connecting people to opportunities and programmed design solutions and imagining nature homes that are occurring.
9) How are you exploring surface conditions as an integral part of your design?
I have been exploring water surfaces similar to water from fluidity to solid steel and cold surfaces for touching. And I also have been trying adding actual water surfaces to apply to the glass. It gives more reflections to be able to look at actual water surfaces. Moreover, with a concept with Junya Ishigami, I designed my space with skylights of views to create shadows.
10) What has emerged from your material and design processes?
I have emerged from historical (English bricks), steel, water and Pocket Forest with grass, straws, and brass wood to emerge through design processes.

Slides 1 Hero Image
My design focuses it’s telling transitional cinematic space between nowadays cities occur with constructing buildings reflecting to the crown and before 1840 back to the earliest transitional space the historical environment it’s built with water and native forest.
There will be three different cinematic themes about the changing space, articulated with different surface materials constructions .The program would be a sitting area, immersive space, water touching and Pocket Forest meditations.
The key relation would be adapting to new ways of living and working, rejuvenating the context that exists reusing space remind beloves native nature and history materials in public space with water, pocket forest. My design proposal will serve future public user communities. To be focus on businessmen and Uni-students.
Slides 2 Cinematic Device
I informed that the concept from the cinematic device shows a transitional illusion of lights that gives people attractions followed by reflection on floor materials using these hidden images of transition lights could attract people to recognize the essential materials of history. At night less people gather. last images it draws me into the light and river to slow their movements by meditation and relaxation by reducing the traffic.
Slides 3 Scene Transitions
The scene transition using a connecting water crossing bridge in 1827 created a boundary how cities constructed with British colonial material. The curves represent time travelling back to Maori in 14th-century sleeping houses built from natural elements without construction.
Slides 4 Scripts
I used poetic scripting to program my design and imaginative historical water to hear the sound connecting people relax a programmed design solutions and imagining nature homes that are occurring.
Slides 5 Material Narrative and Surfaces
I have explored water surfaces similar to fluidity steel to touch. I have add solidity surfaces to apply to the glass. I have influenced by Junya Ishigami and E studio to create skylights water views to create shadows.
Slides 6 Site Analysis
By using site analysis understand how the built environment can promote well-being. I apply analysis use planning and decision-makers, begins activities, user groups, and behaviour patterns. Enabling active lifestyles by designing accessible spaces.
Slides 6 Floor Plan
Slide 7 Interior Views (Story Telling)
In a busy working day, an office worker who walks past by Fort Lane trying to find a quiet space while at a busy time enjoys his meal and relaxes.
This is my floor plan
An office workers David start attract by light passing through these water shadows. It motivates him to walk, experiencing the time-travelling back historical environments between native pocket forest and cities, by touching transitional materials. He feels the steel temperature water. So he looked up. David curious about an illusion floating on water with a historical crossing bridge they were walking with water footage, so he decided to walk to the top. It makes him want to sit under the sunshine later.
Before looking up to the roof, he feels the place is warm, he hears bird sounds and the smell of plants that makes him want to stay and relax with meditation to refresh his mind before going to work. After meditating, he felt happy and enjoyable, so he started to walk up the stairs and stretch. He does not feel tired, he is ready to go back to his work.
In the evening, he came back again after work. Feeling overwhelmed because he knows there will be lousy traffic jams going back to the north shore. The worker found this place that he can stay in to avoid traffic.
Feedback from Presentations:
- Hero Image is powerful that connects to my themes
- Site Analysis is detailed
- Have a look of cinematic movies. What type of movies that involved into the design.
- Look at more examples of Maori histories movies that reflects history 14th century wharepuni (sleeping houses) and forest. Also find some type of movies that relate to water themes movies.
- Can be a more fluid design connect into one instead separate themes misunderstand about this feedback?
